❓❓ Chapter 1: I have this problem. Do you as well❓

Published: Tue, 06/27/23

Barb Ling from the Dennis and Barb Partnership and earlier today...

And I realized just this morning that I have a big problem.

Maybe you do too.... so I want you to think about the following.

Think about something you do really well.  I mean, really really REALLY well.  So well, in fact, that you're the "go to" person whenever anyone (anyone who is in the know, that is) needs help in solving their own problems.  In a nutshell, there's nothing you cannot solve regarding this ability.

Do you ever feel, well, *weird* about admitting having skill (or know someone who does)?  So weird, in fact, that if you're ever asked to give a speech, say, or meet up with someone 'way above your own level, you'll take active steps to avoid that (raises hand and waves it wildly)?

If so, I *so* know how you feel... because this morning showed me that after 50 years, I *still* fall prey to this.  :(  And OMG it is so horrible to endure, because you *know* you're great at something and yet you simply *cannot* take that rather crucial step towards simply admitting to the world what the world already knows...

... you just gloriously shine whenever this particular skill is required.

And the heck of it is, you could have decades and decades of said brilliance under your belt but because of things that happened in your past, you just cannot give yourself permission to admit it.

Welp, for me, it all started long long ago, back when cavemen were still debating about whether to upgrade from stone tools to rock tools and I was in elementary school.  Due to being a weeeeeeee bit, ahem, weird, I never really knew how to build long-term friendships, and unfortunately that made me a target to school bullies.  And although my parents *tried* to understand and give useful advice...

(if you ever received the story of Birdie and BB/the ChatGPT prompts used as a bonus from DAB, you now know why that factored into *my* particular children's' book:

Wow!

But I digress)

...They never truly grokked it until 7th grade.

How, I hear you ask?  Alas, as this email already is 'waay too long, I'll answer that in the next installment!  Folks my age and older (100+ years) could probably guess what changed, folks younger would probably approach it 'waaay differently... will you be right?

Tune in tomorrow and see!

Have a strongly spectacular day,

Dennis Becker and Barb Ling

P.S.  Speaking of children's books and ChatGPT, have you checked out the DAB Prompt Portal?  Right now, it's at 94% savings... and that founders deal?

Check it out HERE to see!
