==>> 💥 Black Friday gift 💥 Holiday Dinners with Happily Quiet Kids

Howdy,

Barb from the DennisAndBarb Partnership and remember how we're starting Black Friday early?

So, now I'm going to include paid goodies... as gifts.

And this first one is NOT a PDF, or an audio file, or a video, but just one simple problem....

Followed by one simple solution.

(NOTE!  Let's set reading expectations.  It's *long*.  Valuable, mind you, but *long*)

Ready?  OK!  This example is for anyone bracing for a house bursting with kiddos who think that sacred term, the "indoor voice",  is simply a myth from back during their parents time (around the 1500s or so).   Every visit in the past you've had, has been marred by kids running around unsupervised (a problem in itself!) and you want this year to be better.

So, here's the problem.  Your holiday will be miserable unless you convince the kids that silence is the most fun EVAH!

And here's how we solve it.

We ask ChatGPT for their ideas first.  Blue is me, Red is ChatGPT.

"Good morning!   Can you please solve this issue for me?

Your holiday will be miserable unless you convince the kids that silence is the most fun EVAH!"

Go ahead and try that in your ChatGPT - Idea and Idea and Idea will be suggested, like:

"First off, let's turn this into a game. Kids love games, right? How about the "Super Silent Challenge"? The rules are simple: who can stay silent the longest wins a prize. Make it exciting, like they're secret agents on a covert mission where silence is key to success. Maybe even dress up a bit to set the scene!"

I don't know about you, but as the kids in question are not MY kids, chances of me "taking over" and doing that.much.effort are about as high as Wily E Coyote, Super Genius, catching the Roadrunner.

While in my sleep, no less.  So, I basically want to create something that the parents could hand off over to the kids (because after all, the parents would be impressed that I took the time to do so)!

Btw, *never* miss an opportunity to make people happy (without expecting anything in return).  Kindness rules!  But I digress.

My next comment to ChatGPT is:

Ah, but these aren't my kids.  I don't want to do something that much.  I'd like to just hand the parents something that they can then give the kids which will keep them happy and quiet.

And ChatGPT *finally* gives as a useful answer!

"Here's what you could include:

Activity Books: These are great because they're self-contained fun. Coloring books, puzzle books, or even those cool invisible ink books. Kids can spend hours on these!

Sticker Sets: Who doesn't love stickers? They're quiet, they're fun, and they can keep kids busy for a good while. Just make sure they're the easy-to-peel-off type, so no furniture gets permanently decorated!

Quiet Toys: Think along the lines of fidget spinners, stress balls, or even small LEGO sets. These can be great for keeping little hands busy without much noise."

Going over this from reverse order because why not, lessee.  "Quite Toys" like fidget spinners, stress balls, etc would be turned into high-velocity projectiles.  Errrr gnope.  Next!

"Sticker Sets" - with my luck I'd purchase stickers that both defy lava baths when stuck onto a computer or sleeping pet or pool table, AND are longer-lasting than fossils in Dinosaur exhibits.   Gnope !  So onto the next idea:

Activity Books: These are great because they're self-contained fun. Coloring books, puzzle books, or even those cool invisible ink books. Kids can spend hours on these!

Stop right there!   Coloring Books!  Puzzle Books!  Things you can print at home, OR put them on a USB and have Staples print them for you!

And *why* is this suggestion so great?   Welp, we've seen coloring and puzzle book creators sell on WarriorPlus, right?  And they were presented as modern software you cannot find anywhere?

Permit me to giggle, gentle reader!  Way, way back in the ancient times of 2000, yours truly HAD to dive headfirst into the wild world of educational materials (My kid couldn't grok reading at all. After creating that, however, she picked it up just fine). And all of that effort led me to create me own rival to "Hooked on Phonics" too.  Heady stuff!

But that's simply setting the stage for what I discovered!

Here, check 'em out yourself!

👦  Discovery's Create Your Own Puzzle for Zero Cost!

👦  ArmoredPenguin - My gosh.   I remember 20+ years ago, I used this site too!  LOVED their Wordsearch creator - I'd make lots of words depending upon what trend was popular.  Kept my kids quiet for hours.  And don't forget about the Crossword puzzle maker as well!

Let me pause now to precisely highlight the solution you are creating for zero cost.  You want to find ideas the hosts' kids would enjoy. You now know where to actually make puzzles on your own, but!

An opportunity for massive grey hairs arises!

What theme do those kids actually *like*?

So it's time to pull everything together into simple steps.

In a nutshell, perhaps pistachio, begin with:

==> Step 1.)  Contact your friend and say, "Can't wait for the holiday dinner!  I just found learned how to discover really great business guides online, and then thought about your kids - I was also able to locate coloring pages, mazes, and fun things like that.  I'd love to bring some for your kids, what are their favorite topics?"

Then armed with those topics, move to:

==> Step 2.)  Search on Google to find those kids printables.

They are easy to find!  Search for things like (and yes, you can replace those topics with the topics you need):

👧  free kids Star Trek printables

👦  free kids animals printables

👧  free kids Marching Band printables

👦  free kids Football printables

Good stuff!  From there, move to:

==> Step 3.)  Do a look-see for name printables

I mean, why not?

Some are found at:

👦 MockoFun Templates

👧 Calculator Wise

👦 KrazyDad

Now that you have everything you want to print, move to:

==> Step 4.)  Print out enough for each kid

This is free if you have a printer at home.  If not, put all the info onto a USB stick, and print it at Office Max, Stapes, etc.

And finally, to ensure the holiday meals goes as perfect as you can hope, top it all off via:

==> Step 5.)  Go to your local dollar store and pick up:

Dollar stores are fantastic for:

🎨 *Entire* kids activity books

🎨  Crayon packs

🎨  Other activity items that might keep kids quiet for (dare we hope) hours!

We're nearing the end!  Now, move to:

==> Step 6.)  Package everything nicely!

Kids love feeling special.   So ideally, wrap everything in a nice glorious package with their names on it and when the holiday lunch/dinner arrives, move to:

==> Step 7.)  After arriving at the parent's house, do this.

Wait until you want peace and quiet and nice adult conversation time, and ask the parents for permission to give the kids their gifts.  Make sure to get on eye level with the kids and say,

"Luke Skywalker (or Mr. Spock, or the nice jaguar who is your penpal, etc.) told me I should find these for you!"

and then hand over the gifts.

Ideally the end of result will be very quiet kids as they work on coloring or mazizing, or whatever it is you brought over for them.

And you know what that means?

================================================

👧  FINALLY!  You can enjoy peace and quiet with your friends, without having to deal with the screaming children your friends refuse to discipline.

Heaven that is, simply heaven.

================================================

Peace AND quiet, and you do NOT have to get into an argument with your friends about their kids!

What could be better?

Enjoy!

Have a strongly spectacular Day,
