Today, I'd like to chat about the only thing that *anyone* would want to chat about at any odd moment of any day....
Star Wars!
I mean, why not?
I'm watching The Rise of Skywalker while writing this (okay, exaggeration - I just paused it to write this email) . If you're not familiar with The Hero's Journey (Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth for the win!), "Star Wars" is basically modern mythology; it takes from a multitude of religions/beliefs/myths and blends them all together into one glorious epic adventure.
Well, one of the prevailing beliefs throughout the franchise is that rebellions are built on 'hope'.
And that the "other side" wins because they make the underdogs feel separated and disjointed and that there's nobody they can rely upon.
How untrue this is!
When the chips are down, and push comes to shove... like-minded people will always find inspiration from one another.
Jaded me used to say, hope springs eternal, and all that jazz, but you know something?
Where there is light, there is hope.
But because darkness is quite excellent at hiding things, you have to *search* for that hope. It might take time - an hour, a day, a year, 35 years or the like....
But sometimes when you *least* expect it, that hope will rear up and gently smack you across the face, grab your shoulders, and shake you until your teeth rattle and you hear in your soul:
"Yo tweeblehead! There's a *reason* why this hope of yours exists!"
And that reason?
Well, doing the legwork to bring that hope to fruition...
... it's one of the most painful yet powerful activities you can do.
Your takeaway?
Don't just hope.
Make it happen.
